AudioDoc

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This policy explains what AudioDoc (docstoaudio.com) collects when you use it, why, and the choices you have. For questions or requests, email contact@docstoaudio.com.

1. What we collect

  • Account details. If you register: your email address, display name, a hashed password (never stored in plain text), your reader and voice preferences, when you accepted the terms, and whether you opted in to update emails.
  • Guest sessions. Without an account, your browser keeps a random session ID that links you to your uploads. It contains no personal details.
  • Your content. Documents you upload, text you paste, and the audio we generate from them.
  • Technical data. Our servers keep standard request logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) to keep the service secure and working. We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (see section 5).

2. How your documents are processed

Your documents and pasted text are processed on our own servers, which split them into chapters and turn them into speech with an open-source voice model. We don’t send their text to third-party AI services, we don’t use them to train AI models, and we don’t sell them. Ads are never shown in the reader or your library.

3. Share links

If you create a share link for a document, anyone with the link can read and listen to it until you turn sharing off. Shared pages are hidden from search engines.

4. Why we use your data

  • To provide the service you asked for: storing your documents and generating audio.
  • To keep AudioDoc secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
  • To send account emails, and product update emails only if you opted in. Every update email has an unsubscribe link.
  • To measure usage and show ads on our public pages, with your consent where the law requires it.

5. Cookies and browser storage

  • Essential. Browser storage keeps you signed in and remembers your guest session, theme and reading position. Small cookies remember your language choice and whether you’re signed in. The site doesn’t work without these.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) to count visits and see which pages are used.
  • Advertising. Google AdSense sets cookies on the public pages that show ads (see section 6).

In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are only used after you agree to them in the consent message. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser; the message will then appear again.

6. Advertising

Some of our public pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads are not shown in the reader, in your library, or on shared documents.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google’s Ads Settings, and opt out of some other vendors’ personalized advertising at aboutads.info.

7. Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run AudioDoc:

  • Vercel (website hosting) and Contabo (application servers and file storage).
  • Cloudflare (DNS and network security).
  • Resend (email delivery).
  • Sentry (error reports, configured to exclude personal data).
  • Google (Analytics and AdSense, as described above).

They process data to provide their services to us, and Google also processes advertising data under its own privacy policy. Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union.

8. How long we keep data

  • Guest documents and their audio are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload.
  • Account data and documents are kept while your account exists. You can delete any document from your library at any time.
  • To delete your account and everything in it, email contact@docstoaudio.com from the address on your account.
  • Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or California law), you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent. Email contact@docstoaudio.com and we’ll respond within the time the law requires. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Security

Passwords are hashed, all traffic uses HTTPS, and uploaded files are kept in private storage that is only reachable through short-lived links. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to protect your data.

11. Children

AudioDoc isn’t directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we’ll delete it.

12. Changes

We’ll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app. See also our Terms of Service.
